Bangladesh Navy College Dhaka
Captain S M Salahuddin was commissioned in Bangladesh Navy in Executive Branch on 01 July 1990. On completion of basic training, he joined onboard BNS ALI HAIDER. He went to Turkey and did basic Turkish Language Course and Sub specialization Course on Combat Information Centre (CIC). After that, he has served onboard BNS OSMAN, BNS SUROVI and BNS NIRBHOY. He was appointed as Staff Officer Operations to Naval Administrative Authority Dhaka and Executive Officer of BNS HAJI MOHSIN. He has Commanded three sea going ships namely BNS BARKAT, BNS KARNAPHULI and BNS SAGAR and his shore command include Commanding Officer of BNS TITUMIR, Khulna.
He did his Junior Staff Course from Bangladesh Naval Academy, Staff Course from Defence Services Command and Staff College Mirpur and Masters in Defence Studies from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). He had his specialization course on Torpedo Anti Submarine from BNS ISSA KHAN and completed EMBA from AIUB. His staff duties includes Staff Officer Operations to Naval Administrative Authority Dhaka, Chief Staff Officer of Special Warfare Diving and Salvage (SWADS) Command and Chief of Staff of Submarine Fleet. He was principal of BN School & College Chattogram for about a year.
He has served in Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) both as Group Testing Officer (GTO) and Deputy President (DP). In Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) directorate, he was an Assistant Director for a briefed period. He has served under blue helmet in United Nations Mission in Sudan (UNMIS) and United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) as Detachment Commander of BANMP-1 and Contingent Commander of Bangladesh Force Marine Unit-3 respectively.
He is widely traveled person and visited Malaysia, Turkey, Indonesia, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Sudan & South Sudan. Capt Salauddin is married and blessed with two sons. He is a keen Golfer and Lawn Tennis Player.
